Abandoned Vehicles

It is against the law to abandon a vehicle (Refuse Disposal Amenity Act 1978) and if convicted can cost up to £2,500 or three months in prison. Please take your unwanted vehicles to a breakers yard.

If you suspect a car has been abandoned please report it on 01892 526121 alternatively leave your report on the 24 hour dedicated answer service 01892 548154, or e-mail: info@tunbridgewells.gov.uk However if you feel the vehicle is in a dangerous position or causing an obstruction, the police may also be contacted as they have the power to remove the vehicle quickly if needed.

Free Car Disposal

From 1 January 2007 car owners become entitled to "free take-back" of their "End of Life Vehicles"

You may want to check if there is a cost to you if the vehicle is collected from your home.

Kent County Council are also running an end of life vehicle scheme you are able to book  a free collection of your  unwanted vehicle through the KCC website
