Street Pastors

Tunbridge Wells Street Pastors is a charity made up of volunteers from churches across the town. We go out on the streets every Friday night and on the first and last Saturday nights a month, from 10pm – 4am, to provide practical help to anybody who needs it, and we are supported by a prayer team at our base.

We hand out flip flops, bottles of water, foil blankets, first aid and loads of lollipops as well as help people get home, or we simply offer a listening ear. The teams have all had a lot of training on their roles and responsibilities, listening skills, first aid, knowledge about other services offered in the local community, drug and alcohol and mental health awareness as well as training from the police, youth services, probation services and others.

We value our partnerships with the Community Safety Partnership, CCTV, police, Pubwatch members, and other organisations who provide support to the Night Time Economy.
